The nonpartisan court plan is the manner is which judges are selected for Missouri's Supreme Court, Appeals Courts, and in several counties throughout the state.  Versions of this selection process have been adopted in a majority of states and is nicknamed "The Missouri Plan" across the country.  To learn more about the history of Missouri's Nonpartisan Court Plan click here.

Judicial Performance Evaluation Results

A critical component of the nonpartisan court plan is the ability of voters to make a more informed decision than would be available in contested elections.   The nonpartisan court plan requires retention elections and months prior to those elections, in-depth evaluations are compiled through juror surveys, lawyer evaluations, and peer rankings by other judges.   To access the 2012 Judicial Performance Evaluation results click here.
