Memorial Resolutions

The Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association honors its departed members with a memorial ceremony. The ceremony is attended by friends, family members and colleagues of the deceased and SMBA members from both bench and bar.
It is a longstanding tradition of the Springfield Bar, that each of the departed is remembered with a memorial resolution. Copies of those resolutions, dating back many decades, are placed in the SMBA archives at Missouri State University, and are filed with the Greene County Circuit Clerk.

In 2004, the SMBA began compiling the resolutions into a program and booklet for distribution at the SMBA memorial service. Print copies of those programs are available through inquiry with the SMBA office.
