Drury University will host Supreme Court expert and author Jeffery Toobin for a speech at 7:30 p.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Clara Thompson Hall. Toobin is a longtime analyst for CNN and NPR and is a staff writer at the New Yorker. The topic will be “Inside the World of the Supreme Court.” A Harvard Law graduate, Toobin is the author of two bestsellers about the nation’s top court – “The Nine” and “The Oath.”

The speech is sponsored by Drury’s newly formed L.E. Meador Center for Politics & Citizenship. The Center’s inaugural theme for he 2015-16 year is “Created Equal: Civil Rights, Liberties & Citizenship.” 

Dr. Lewis Elbern (L.E.) Meador was a longtime professor of political science at Drury College for nearly 50 years beginning in 1913. He was a revered civic leader who played key roles in shaping the current Missouri Constitution and Springfield City Charter.
