SMBA member Kurt Larson has been selected to receive the 2015 Humanitarian Award. Larson was selected for his innovation and contribution as founder of Safe and Sober Prom Night. Since its inception twelve years ago, the Safe and Sober campaign, which educates teens about the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol, the program has expanded from Springfield Public Schools a statewide outreach of over 127,000 students at 291 high schools.
The award will be presented at the annual lunch, coordinated by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, December 8, 2015, at the Doubletree Hotel.
