Court Names New Treatment Court Commissioner

The 31st Circuit Court en Banc today announced that Kevin Austin is their selection for Treatment Court Commissioner. Austin will succeed the Honorable Peggy Davis, who is retiring, effective December 1, 2018.

In announcing Austin’s selection, Presiding Judge Michael Cordonnier said, “The Court had many very well qualified applicants which made the decision challenging but certainly speaks well of the local bar and of Kevin Austin.”

Austin plans to begin winding up his practice to take the bench in early December. When contacted about his selection, Austin said, "I am honored and humbled to have been offered this position, especially in view of the great success and national reputation our local treatment courts have attained. I know I have big shoes to fill as commissioner Davis has poured her heart, soul and sweat in this job and I will do my very best to uphold her legacy."
