2018 Triviae Nox Champions

The third annual event brought out the trivia buffs for a spirited evening of fun and facts.  Reigning champs Lowther Johnson sustained their early lead through an impressive six rounds, with Hall Ansley and Legal Services close on their heels.  Round seven tested team knowledge of TV lawyers. Legal Services pulled ahead of the pack, but their lead was slight and it was brief. At the end of round eight Spencer Fane came out of nowhere and topped the board, earning the only perfect score in the category of animated film villains. Meanwhile, Neale Newman was quietly gaining ground, stealthily taking the lead in the penultimate category. Going into the final round it was still anyone’s victory.  Round ten required teams to identify state flags and capitols.  When the scores were tabulated the point spread was vast, indicating that some of us could use a tutor on the subject. But two teams swept the category with proficiency that would make their 5^th grade teacher proud. At night’s end, Lowther Johnson reluctantly parted with the trophy and Neale and Newman team was named 2018 Triviae Nox Champion. Spencer Fane took second place, and Legal Services tied for third place with Bad News Barristers.
