Woody Elected as MACDL President

Monday, April 8, 2019

Criminal defense attorney Adam Woody has been elected President of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  MACDL is comprised of approximately 400 lawyer members from across the state and the organization participates in legislative matters, works with the judiciary to make advances in serving the people who come to court, and provides continuing legal education to practitioners to improve their skills.  The mission of MACDL is to protect the rights of the criminally accused through a strong and cohesive criminal defense bar and to improve the quality of justice in Missouri by seeking to ensure fairness and equality before the law.  Mr. Woody will be the President of that organization through April 2020.

“Coming up through law school I always looked up to MACDL as the preeminent criminal defense organization comprised of the top criminal defense lawyers in the state.  Life now comes full circle to lead that organization and it is humbling to say the least.  I strive to sustain the strong, grounded leadership begun by those presidents before me.  I will continue to work tirelessly to assist hundreds of attorneys representing thousands of clients to provide fair and equal justice for everyone in our criminal court system around the state of Missouri and I will work with state lawmakers and judges to ensure reasonable laws are in place and applied.”
