Attorney/Client Visit Protocol at New Jail
Thursday, June 9, 2022
Notice from Lieutenant Deborah Wade: Whether visiting with your clients in-person or via Webex online, we will be CLOSED for visits from 12:00 (Noon) to 1:00 PM. Updated Attorney Visitation Procedures New Webex Visitation Authorization Form VIDEO VISITS via Webex: We are excited to offer our new stand-alone, secure, unmonitored, Webex client as an alternative to coming in person to visit with your clients. We will be starting to set up profiles in the system next week for those that have turned in their signed authorization forms to us already. As we get you set up with an account on the Visitation Scheduling System, you will receive an email with login and password information. The system utilizes two party authentication and will email you a 6 digit code to the email you provide to us for your profile purposes. You will enter that code to access the schedule software. Once logged in to the system, you will be able to search for your inmate client, then select a date and time allotment (5 minute increments). The system will then give you available timeslots that meet your criteria to select from. Video Visits have to be scheduled 24 hours in advance, so that we are able to manage the inmate movement on our side. IN-PERSON VISITS: You will still have the ability to come in for in-person visits through a glass partition in the same visitation booths utilized for the video visits. If you would like to ensure room availability, you can schedule the appointment through the same instructions you would for a video visit, but come in person instead of connecting online (24 hour advance notice applies). Just beware, IF you don’t schedule the appointment ahead of time, and the Attorney visitation room is in use when you come in (or scheduled to start soon), you will have to utilize the bondsman booth area, or wait for the specific housing unit’s visitation room to become available. Once you’ve filled out and signed the Authorization Form for the Webex Visitation Scheduling software system, please forward them to me at dwade@greenecountymo.gov. We have answered some questions received this week in the string below. Please remember, this system and process is completely new to us also, so please be patient with us as we navigate through what is working, what is not and moving forward through needed changes as we go. Questions/Answers: Will there be any opportunity for in person visits at Greene County?Yes, we do have an attorney client visit room for each housing unit, however, the attorney/client will be separated by glass and it will be a non-contact visit. If all visits are by video, will we be able to “screen share” so that we can share documents/videos with our clients? We do offer all attorneys the ability to have video sessions with their clients in the attorney/client visit room. This is done over a secure Webex client. The software allows for screen share. Are the video visits confidential? What platform is being used? Who is hosting the visit? Is there any recording or monitoring of the video or the room where the client is located? Are clients in close proximity to each other during attorney-client visits? The attorney/client visit rooms are not monitored by camera or audio and were designed to work with our stand alone, secure, unmonitored, Webex client. I wonder if they would give us a tour of the facility? In particular we would want to see where visits happen, and fully understand how they happen. No problem. Just let us know what works with your schedule.
