2022 Triviae Nox Recap

After a two-year pause, the Springfield Bar Foundation’s signature fundraiser Triviae Nox returned Friday, October 21.  Seven teams competed for the title of “smartest firm”

Round one “Bingeworthy” requiring identification of the best on demand shows-to-binge, resulted in an early 3 way tie between Neale Newman, Kutak and Legal Services. In round two Trivia Bugs (identify the photos of bugs) Legal Services pulled into the lead, but couldn’t hold it into round three “work from home,” an auditory category asking for the artist/ band for songs with the word “home” prominently in the lyrics.  Neale Newman took a slim, one-point lead in that round with a four-way tie for second between Kutak, Legal Services and Easter Law Firm.

Neale Newman held that lead through round four (name the Oscar Best Picture Winner) but Legal Services caught up in round five (Plague Literacy – name the classic, plague themed book title) causing a tie for first with Kutak trailing by only one point.

Round six “Name the Royal” –monarchs and baseball players saw Neale Newman flex and retake  the lead where they stayed through the remaining four categories; Female superheroes, ContraCeption, Beer labels and famous Episcopalians. 

Kutak had a very good showing maintaining a 3 point or fewer margin of the top score all evening until the last round and shout out to Hall Ansley who are always in the running.

Out of a total possible 100 points, Legal Services finished third with a respectable 80 points. Kutak was second with 82 points and  the reigning champs, Neale Newman held their title, finishing in first place with an impressive 89 points.
