Athena Award goes to SMBA Past President

The 2023 Athena Award recipient is SMBA Past President Stephanie Stenger.  The Athena Award recognizes female leaders for their professional excellence and contributions to the betterment of the community.

Stenger is CEO of Springfield Land LP and the SMBA is just one of dozens of professional, civic and charitable boards she has served and led.

She is past president of the Junior League of Springfield, past president of the Springfield Greene County Library Board, past president of the Friends to the Zoo Board, past president of Isabel’s House Board, past president of Care to Learn Board, and past chair of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks Board.

In addition to those boards she has served on the Missouri Literary Festival Board, The Springfield Business and Development Corporation Board, the Young Presidents’ Organization International – Central U.S. Region Board, the Springfield Greene County Financial Advisory Board, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board and the Mayor's Commission on Children.

She is currently serving on the Legal Service of Southern Missouri board, the HBA Developer’s Council and the Springfield Good Government Committee and she is president of the Moxie
