Russell to serve as 2025 Springfield Metro Bar President

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Attorney Matt Russell was sworn in as the 2025 President of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association (SMBA) Friday, January 17, 2025 at the 51^st SMBA Banquet and Installation of Officers.  Russell, partner at MRD Lawyers, is the 99th president of the local bar association which was founded in 1903. The SMBA is the largest professional networking group in Southwest Missouri, serving more than 800 attorneys.  Russell follows 2024 President Debbie Dodge.

The full slate of 2025 SMBA officers and directors is Matt Russell, president; the Hon. Jason Brown president-elect; Courtney Schawo, treasurer; Lillian Sweeney, secretary: and Debbie Dodge, past-president.  Directors are Andy Peebles, Gregg Groves, Ben Shantz, the Hon. Jennifer Growcock, Lauren Haskins, John Kail, Joel Block, Jon Gold, Cameron Beaver, Katherine Thompson, Jacob Lewis and Scott Smith. Presiding Judge Jerry Harmison and SMBA Executive Director Crista Hogan also serve, ex officio.
