FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 4, 2026 Lawyers Install New Leadership Brown to serve as 100th President of Springfield Bar ________________________________________ SPRINGFIELD, MO – The Honorable Jason Brown was sworn in as the 2026 President of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association (SMBA) Friday, January 23, 2026 at the 52nd SMBA Banquet and Installation of Officers. Judge Brown retired from the 31st Judicial Circuit in 2022 and is now with Jay Daugherty Mediation and Arbitration. He is the 100th president of the local bar association which was founded in 1903. The SMBA is the largest professional networking group in Southwest Missouri, serving more than 800 attorneys. Brown follows 2025 President Matt Russell. The full slate of 2026 SMBA officers and directors is the Hon. Jason Brown, president; Daniel Wooten president-elect; Courtney Schawo, treasurer; Katherine Thompson, secretary: and Matt Russell, past-president. Directors are Andy Peebles, Gregg Groves, the Hon. Jennifer Growcock, Lauren Haskins, Joel Block, Jon Gold, Cameron Beaver, Jacob Lewis, Elizabeth Fax, Cole Roberts, Amanda Callaway and Alec Martinez.
