Contract Counsel

The Greene County Juvenile Office, Family Court – Juvenile Division, is seeking qualified Missouri-licensed attorneys in good standing to apply as an independent contractor for the purpose of providing legal representation as Guardian ad Litem and/or counsel for indigent parents in abuse, neglect, and delinquency matters. Selected attorneys will be appointed by the Court to represent children and parents throughout the life of assigned cases, maintain compliance with Missouri statutes, Supreme Court Rules, and local court rules, and manage an anticipated caseload of approximately 50–75 cases. The position offers a monthly compensation of $6,750, with responsibilities including court appearances, client contact, participation in key case meetings, and adherence to professional standards governing juvenile representation. There are also Tier II Contracts with a case load of between 20-49 case per month with compensation set at $3625.00 per month. Interested applicants should be prepared to meet case processing expectations, maintain communication with the Court regarding caseload, and fulfill all duties consistent with the ethical and legal obligations of representation in the Greene County Family Court system.  There is currently one, and possibly two contracts available for the remainder of 2026.  Please submit any questions or a letter of interest to Bill Prince, Chief Juvenile Officer at bill.prince@courts.mo.gov

 

The Greene County Juvenile Office is seeking qualified attorneys licensed and in good standing with the Missouri Supreme Court to provide contract legal representation to youth alleged to have committed delinquent or status offenses pursuant to Section 211.031, RSMo. This independent contractor position involves safeguarding the legal rights of juveniles, providing zealous and ethical representation in all court proceedings, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards. Attorneys will be compensated at a rate of $100 per hour, with monthly billing requirements, and will be responsible for managing their own taxes, insurance, and professional expenses.
