Conor Robert Browne 1995 - 2026

We are sad to report the passing of SMBA member and Greene County assistant prosecuting attorney Conor Browne. Browne died Saturday June 6, 2026.

We reached out to Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson for comment.  Dan said the following

Conor Browne was everything you hope a prosecutor will be: principled, tireless, and genuinely committed to justice and the people he served.

In six years, he accomplished what many take a career to build, earning the trust of his colleagues and the respect of this office through his dedication to some of our most serious and difficult cases.

He was not just an exceptional attorney; he was a valued friend and a true advocate for justice. We are devastated by his loss at only 31 years old, and we are a lesser office and a lesser community without him. His work mattered, and so did he.

Our deepest sympathy to Conor’s family, his colleagues at the prosecutor’s office and all those who were fortunate enough to know him and are suffering this loss.
