The SMBA receives a large volume of calls and online inquiries from individuals needing legal assistance. Referral panels are also listed in the SMBA Bar News, a great source for lawyer to lawyer referrals. The rules for participation are:

• Lawyer will charge no more than $100.00 for the first 1/2 hour of consultation
• Annually provide proof of professional liability insurance, $100,000 per occurrence/ $300,000 aggregate)
• Payment of annual fee (see below)

Billing is from July 1 to June 30, and new panelists will be prorated accordingly.  Annual rates effective January 1, 2022 $150 per panel, discount of $25 per panel for 4 or more panels
